Urban Company shares rise over 7% as volume triples in intraday trade
Urban Company shares surged more than 7% with volume jumping nearly 3-fold in intraday trade on Tuesday, 6 October. The stock opened at ₹159.80 against the previous close of ₹159.65 and climbed to an intraday high of ₹171.80. This marks the second consecutive session of gains for the share price.
Year-to-date, Urban Company's stock is up 30%, and over the past six months, it has risen nearly 40%. In October so far, the stock has gained 9%, following a 6% decline in September. Earlier in August, the stock jumped 29% after the company reported healthy Q1FY27 results on 31 July.
The share price hit its 52-week high of ₹183.65 on 4 September, after touching a 52-week low of ₹96.35 on 2 March. In Q1FY27, Urban Company reported strong performance, with consolidated net transaction value (NTV) growing 42% year-on-year to ₹1,465 crore and revenue from operations increasing 44% YoY to ₹528 crore.
The company delivered 13.2 million orders during the quarter, a 79% YoY increase, and added approximately 1.2 million new users—the first time it crossed the one million new-user mark in a single quarter. Consolidated adjusted EBITDA loss narrowed to ₹65 crore in Q1FY27 from ₹98 crore in Q4FY26.
Market analysts noted technical strength in the stock's movement. Jigar S. Patel of Anand Rathi Share and Stock Brokers highlighted a bullish hidden divergence on the daily chart, suggesting weakening downside momentum. He indicated that a sustained move above ₹178 could trigger a retest of the all-time high, with upside targets of ₹185–₹188.
Vipin Kumar of Globe Capital Market pointed out that the stock has been forming higher highs and higher lows since its all-time low in March 2026. He noted the stock is trading above both long- and short-term moving averages, with near-term targets around ₹185 and ₹195, and strong support seen near ₹150.
