Anmol Industries files draft papers for ₹1,800 crore OFS IPO
Anmol Industries has filed draft papers with Sebi for an initial public offering to raise up to ₹1,800 crore through an offer for sale. The Kolkata-based biscuit maker, which is the fourth-largest branded packaged foods company in India by sales value, plans to sell equity shares entirely held by the promoter Baijnath Choudhary Family Trust. There is no fresh issue component in this public offer.
This marks the company’s second attempt to tap the public markets, following a withdrawn draft red herring prospectus filed in June 2018 for an OFS of up to ₹750 crore. The current IPO has a face value of ₹5 per share and will be conducted via the book-building process. Allocation norms specify that not more than 50% of the net offer will go to qualified institutional buyers, while non-institutional bidders and retail individual bidders will receive not less than 15% and 35% respectively.
The company operates in the Indian packaged biscuits, cakes and bakery products segment, competing with major players such as Britannia Industries, Parle Products, ITC, Mrs. Bector’s Food Specialties and Mondelez India Foods. Anmol Industries has a wide geographic footprint, with its products available in 4,266 pin codes across 24 states and two Union Territories. It has also exported to 31 countries over the last three financial years.
As of the draft red herring prospectus date, the company runs seven manufacturing facilities in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Odisha. These facilities have an aggregate installed capacity of 3.61 lakh tonnes per annum for biscuits and cookies, and 16,372 mtpa for cakes as of March 31, 2026. In the last financial year, Anmol Industries reported revenue from operations of ₹2,101.8 crore and a net profit of ₹190.9 crore.
ICICI Securities, IIFL Capital Services and Intensive Fiscal Services are appointed as book-running lead managers for the IPO. The equity shares are proposed to be listed on both the National Stock Exchange of India and BSE.
